What to expect when bringing in your pet
Our General practice operates on an appointment basis, during the hours of 8am to 7pm from Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 4pm on Saturdays. When calling to make an appointment, our helpful staff should be able to answer any of your questions.
There is ample parking within the Veterinary Clinic and Hospital (VC&H) precinct, in front of the reception room and Hospital entrance.
If you have an appointment, come to the Reception Desk, with your pet. Make sure your pet is either in a carrier cage or well restrained, as there will be other animals in the reception area. The receptionist will then contact the veterinarian or nurse who will attend to your appointment.
If you do not have an appointment, the receptionist may ask you to wait for the next available appointment, or to come back when one is available. In urgent cases, a nurse will assess your pet straight away.
If it is an emergency outside normal business hours, drive straight to reception and ring the doorbell at the left side of the door to the reception room and you will be attended to immediately.
If your pet is kept in the VC&H for an extended period of time, it is sometimes possible for you to come and visit them. The hospital is set in pleasant garden surroundings that many owners take advantage of when they visit their pet, if in-patient treatment is required.
Unfortunately some conditions don’t allow your pet to be handled or sometimes for only short periods, so visits need to be discussed with the veterinarian who is looking after your pet. There is no facility available at present for you to stay with your pet overnight if hospitalisation is necessary.
