Dr Davis commenced working at the Veterinary Clinic and Hospital (VC&H) in April 1997 as a resident in Emergency and Critical Care. On completion of the residency, he remained on staff as a registrar and became head of Emergency and Critical Care in 1999. He ran this area until March 2002, when he became Director of the Hospital. Before joining the VC&H, he had spent 14 years working in general practice in both Australia and the United Kingdom. This time had been in mixed and small animal practice, both as an assistant and a practice owner.
